How to Install AOLIS Terminal in Your Computer
- Automatic - Windows
- Manual - Windows (if installer does not work properly)
- Download Putty.exe from https://a.aolis.aup.edu.ph/Software/SSH/putty.exe
- Download config.reg from https://a.aolis.aup.edu.ph/Software/SSH/config.reg
- Double-click config.reg and click Yes and Ok to import settings to Registry
- Run putty.exe and type aolis.aup.edu.ph in the hostname to connect to aolis
- Windows 10 with dot-matrix printer
- same as above
- you need to add use a Generic Text Printer instead of the windows 10 epson driver (which doesn't let plain text go thru - queued print jobs just disappear from the print queue)
- press Window key
- type "printer"
- click "Printers & scanners" (system settings)
- click "Add a printer or scanner"
- wait some time... until some printers are enumerated
- scroll to the bottom of the discovered printers
- click "The printer that I want isn't listed", a new window should open.
- click "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings"
- click "Next"
- select which port the dot matrix printer is using (maybe USB...)
- click "Next"
- choose "Generic" Manufacturer and "Generic / Text Only" as the printer
- click "Next"
- Remember the printer name and use it later in Putty
- click "Next" until "Finish"
- try printing from Putty with the new Generic / Text printer
- Windows 11
- No need to install anything
- Open CMD (press Window key and type "cmd")
- in the prompt, type "ssh your_aolis_usernname_here@a.aolis.aup.edu.ph"

- Mac OS
- No need to install anything
- Open Terminal from Finder->Applications->Utilities->Terminal
- Change advanced settings of terminal "terminal type" from "xterm-256-color" to "xterm" (Terminal->Preferences->Advanced->Declare Terminal as: xterm)
- Close Terminal and Reopen New Terminal
- in the prompt, type "ssh your_aolis_usernname_here@a.aolis.aup.edu.ph"
