By what are we to try them?

"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in
them." Isa. 8: 20.
How was this fulfilled?
How may we be freed from the guilt of our sins, or our transgressions of God's law?
What is said of one who professes to know the Lord, but does not keep His commandments?
