Does God delight to afflict any?

"For the Lord will not cast off for ever: but though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according
to the multitude of His mercies. For He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men."
Lam.3:31-33.

How is the fulfilment of this prophecy recorded?
How dependent are we upon Christ for salvation?
Does proper correction evidence a want of parental love?
What did He teach concerning the stability of the law?
What great separation will then take place?
What famine will come at this time upon those who have rejected God's messages of mercy?
Who will dwell with the redeemed?
