Why did not these ancient worthies receive the promise?

some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect." Heb. 11: 39,40.

What, therefore, must he the character of His Word?
Upon how many does God bestow His blessings?
What reply did the Lord immediately make?
What would obedience to God's commandments have ensured to ancient Israel?
To whom does vengeance belong?
What, according to prophecy, was to be Christ's attitude toward the law?
How perfect will be their knowledge of God?
