Why did not these ancient worthies receive the promise?

"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided
some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect." Heb. 11: 39,40.

With what, therefore, is the faith of Jesus joined?
Did God's chosen people receive Christ when He came?
What deliverance was thus made possible?
18. Knowing that the unbelieving Jews would still cling to their false ideas respecting the Sabbath, pray?
Is there any evidence that such an image will be made?
