Why did the apostle say this duty was so imperative?

to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables!' Verses 3, 4.

Upon what ground does God's work for sinners rest?
In what other way is this same truth stated?
14. What was the next step in their plan to secure lawful authority to carry out their unlawful purpose?
Where was God to meet with Israel?
How many must meet the test of the judgment?
What will He then do for each one?
